Friday 56: Michelle Beattie

Happy Friday!
It's time for another edition of Friday 56, brought to us by Freda's Voice.

1) Grab the book nearest you.  Don't dig for your favorite, the coolest, or most intellectual book.  Use the closest book to you.

2) Turn to page 56.

3) Post any sentence from that page (plus 1 or 2 others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog.  If you don't have your own blog, feel free to post in the comments section of this blog.

Author: Michelle Beattie
Genre: Historical Fiction

"Although the matter was easily taken care of, he knew sorting through his thoughts wouldn't be quite so simple.  He was mad at her.  Hell, the way she'd betrayed him those years ago he had a right to be angry.  And he knew after following her onto his ship and clapping eyes on her backside, that there was lust there as well. What he hadn't realized, what he would have believed impossible, was that, after touching her again, after seeing the desire in her eyes, he still cared for her.  And hell if he knew what he should do about that."
